 The National Museum of Oman is located in the centre of Old Muscat, right in front of the Sultan's Palace. The museum shows the Oman cultural heritage since prehistoric times and is made up of fourteen themed permanent galleries that contain ancient ceramics, weapons, jewels, precious crockery, fine furniture, etc.

 This fort, located in the city of Nizwa, about 150 km from the capital Muscat, is probably Oman's most visited national monument. The underlying structure dates back to the 12th century, but the current fort was built in 1650 by Imam Sultan Bin Saif Al Ya'rubi. The main building of the fort is its huge cylindrical tower 36 meters in diameter and 30 meters high.

 The Royal Opera House in Muscat is the center of cultural excellence of the Sultanate of Oman. There are organized artistic, cultural and educational programs that concern artistic creations not only from Oman, but also from foreign countries around the world.

 This park is the largest in the city and is very popular with both locals and tourists. It is crossed by many paths that wind around the lake and through the meadows.

 The Grand Mosque was built in 1995-2001 over an area of 416,000 m2 and at that time had the world’s largest carpet and chandelier. The carpet measures over 70 by 60 metres and weighs 21 tons. The chandelier, located in the centre of the men’s prayer hall, measures 14 metres, weighs 8.5 tons and holds 600,000 Swarovski crystals and 24 carat gold plating. Another impressive number of the mosque are the books contained in the library: more than 20,000. Non-Muslim visitors over 10 years are allowed, however men and women must wear long pants, shoulders must be covered and women must also cover their hair.

 City Centre Muscat is a very large shopping mall located on Sultan Qaboos Road.
